eHR Portal Management
Approval workflows
Decide who approves each type of request, how many levels it goes through, and when it escalates or auto-rejects.
Table of Contents
Each request type — leave, timesheet, outdoor duty, loan, advance, investment declaration, profile changes and more — has a workflow that decides who approves it. Open eHR Portal Management → HR Tasks → Configure Workflow Items.

Change a workflow
Open the workflow
Select the edit icon in the Action column.
Set the approval rules
On Information, under Approval Settings, choose the Approving Authority, Finalized By, Approval Levels and Mode (Manual, or Auto to approve automatically).
Set escalation
Under Escalation Settings, set Escalation Days, Rejection Days and Auto Approval Days, and choose whether to Notify Escalation To HR and Notify Approval To HR.
Editing a workflow Save
Select Save Changes.
Name specific approvers
By default approvers come from the reporting structure. When Approving Authority is Functional Manager, an Approvers tab appears: select Add Approvers, pick the employees and their Approver Level, and save. Specific approvers override the role-based authority for that workflow.
Add HR personnel for notifications
On the HR Personnel tab, select Add HR Personnel and search for employees (type at least 2 characters). They receive notifications and escalations for that workflow.
Set Escalation After on time-sensitive workflows such as Leave Request and Timesheet, so requests don't sit unanswered when a manager is away.
