Applying for leave
Check your leave balances, apply for full or half-day leave, track approval status, and cancel or delete applications.
Table of Contents
Leave Management shows your balance for every leave type, lets you apply, and tracks each application until it's approved.
Open it from Self Service → Request Leave, or select Request Leave on the Dashboard's Leave Calendar card.
What you'll see
- Leave posted would require approval from — who will approve your leave.
- Apply for Leave — a tile for each leave type (for example Casual Leave, Privilege Leave, Compensatory Off) showing Consumed, Applied, Encashed, Total and the balance you have left.
- Leave Application Status — your applications for the selected month, each marked Pending, Approved or Rejected.
How to apply for leave
Choose the leave type
Under Apply for Leave, select + on the leave type you want to take.
Pick the dates
Choose the From Date and To Date. For a single day, pick the same date for both.
Choose full or half day
Under Leave Frequency, choose Full Day, First Half or Second Half.
Add a reason
Type a short Reason — your approver sees it.
The leave application form Submit
Select Submit Application. The application appears under Leave Application Status as Pending, and your approver is notified.
The Applied count on a leave tile includes leave that's still waiting for approval, so your balance already accounts for it.
Track your applications
- Use the month selector to move between months, or View Full Year to see the whole year.
- Select Filter to show one leave type or one status (All Leaves / All Status), then Apply Filters.
- Select an application to see the dates, number of days, frequency, reason and when you posted it.
Delete or cancel leave
| Situation | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Still Pending | Delete it. Confirm in Delete Leave Application — this can't be undone. |
| Approved, date not yet passed | Select Cancel Leave, then confirm. Your balance is restored and your approvers are notified. Choose Keep Leave to back out. |
| Approved, date already passed | You'll see Leave Cannot Be Cancelled. Contact your manager or HR. |
