# Informing outdoor duty

> Tell your approver when you work away from the office — at a client site, in the field or at an event — so the day isn't marked absent.

Use **Outdoor Duty** when you're working, but not at your usual office — a client visit, site work, training elsewhere. Once approved, those days count as worked rather than absent.

Open it from **Self Service → Outdoor Duty**.

## How to inform outdoor duty

1. **Open the form** — Select **Inform Outdoor Duty**.
2. **Pick the dates** — Choose the **From Date** and **To Date**.
3. **Choose the day frequency** — Under **Day Frequency**, choose **Full Day** or **Half Day** — or switch on **Time Based** and set the **Start Time** and **End Time** for a few hours away.
4. **Add remarks** — Say where you'll be and why — for example *Client site visit, Andheri*.

Only requests that are still **Pending** can be deleted. Select the request, then **Delete**, and confirm. This can't be undone — after approval, ask your manager to make changes.
